  • I made an entry on talk, drop by if you can to check on it please.  I was looking for a contact link to WarMetal devs to post on our Facebook page.  If you know it, please visit our Facebook page and post it or post it on my message wall here. Either way I'd like to get it where our visitors can easily find it.  Thanks again for all your assistance here.

    • I started a new career as finding work in digital technology wasn't happening.   I know goods need to move so I'm a transportation specialist - I bring all sorts of goodies to stores and distribution centers. So I'm doing well.

  • Are you still maintaining the Tyrant wiki? Or has that moved on to someone else?

      Loading editor
    • I've been away from Tyrant for quite some time now, and so also have been away from the Wiki. It appears Hakdo is still actively maintaining the Wiki, I would recommend contacting him :)

  • Dude, you gotta edit those photos! Since a previous update, all the maps look cooler now. Please change the maps to look like the ones we have now.

    • Sorry, I've been away from Tyrant for quite a while now and didn't realize I wasn't receiving email notifications for messages to my wall here. Since I haven't been playing Tyrant for quite a long time, I haven't been contributing to the Wiki.

  • I made a deck with Commander: Malort and cards: Vampire, Rifter, Mech Walker, and Devastator.

Played in that order, on mission 42, over 1 mil plays, 99.9% of the time you get the achievement. But I'm not sure how to post that on the site, can you help?

  • So, with the latest update the rates of receiving crafting items from faction wars can now vary from either faction level or loyalty depending whichever is higher. Will there be an update on the page? I'm not exactly sure what the rates are though xD Was wondering if you knew =3.

    • I haven't been nearly as active the past few weeks. I'm not sure what the new drop rates are, so it will likely be one of the other editors who is more active doing the update once the rates are brought to light.

  • Hey Slivicon. I was wondering if there was some sort of PM system on the wiki. I've seen the chat system but barely anyone uses it.

  • Are you sure you want to keep it as one table? In the current form you will need to add at least another 50 rows.

    • Aslo about the % chance now it looks like you have 10% chance to get 4 Nexus Beacons discuraging ppl from doing more than 799 dmg if they are not sure it they can get 1000+ I'm pretty sure it means you get 3 and 10% chance for fourh as in Xml you see:

      <req>250</req><honor>25</honor><item_num>0</item_num><add_prob>.5</add_prob>

I doubt even tyrant devs are insane enough to give 50% chance to get 0 parts

        Loading editor
    • It doesn't really matter to me, as this is really temporary just to get the information up.

Please go ahead and update to what you think makes sense. I just thought it seemed pointless to mention a probability of getting 0 parts, so thought either I misunderstood, or something was wrong...

Over the long term, we will continue the practice we've been pushing here for the past 6 months or so of D.R.Y. (don't repeat yourself) to reduce maintenance since there are so few regular editors.

More specifically, data regarding components from raids will likely be added to existing templates on raid pages, then the crafting page will be updated to use dpl to dynamically pull the values and create tables for the raids section.

One of the existing templates for missions will likely be updated to add data regarding components from missions and then dpl can pull the values for those and generate dynamic tables.

Your template for cards will likely be pulled by dpl to generate dynamic blueprints tables, and so on.

A bigger project on a side note I'd like to see happen in the future is consolidating all the templates being used on card pages into one master template, changing certain parameter names to match xml node values in cards.xml where appropriate, and adding missing values such as card ID, which will open the door to possible interfaces with Fansite and Evaluate Decks which base everything on card ID (we had avoided ID in the past because the DEVS had changed some card IDs at some points and we thought it might prove unreliable, but we will not be able to interface with Fansite or Evaluate Decks, or use their deck hash shortcuts in {{EvalDecks}} without incorporating ID).

The biggest project we've done recently which made heavy use of dpl to reduce maintenance was the Missions project. You will find if you look into the internals of that, we are using dpl and templates to reduce as much repetition as possible, very little is static text. We are also exercising "one piece of data stored in one place and one place only" - for example, we store the details from missions.xml one time for each mission on the mission page in a template, and use dpl to pull the data to build the tables on the main missions page, as well as to build the mission data for the area pages. Finally, Tyrant/Script stores all the script in one spot, and we used selective transclusion to add them to the various mission pages, drastically reducing the maintenance workload.

  • I read through standards and I'm unsure if I understand it correctly but do you propose manual decks to follow same rules as auto decks? I think that putting 2 different manual decks to one table only because they share same tier would be a mistake as some of them require more detailed strategy. While in achievement pages such things would cluter it I thought it was the point of manual raid pages. In my opinion manual raid decks should look more like grinding pages with added strategy to them when/if necessary and 6th+ decks should be moved to talk pages with link to it in a visible place. (Although it is possible I misunderstood it due to not being native english speaker and that is why I'm not posting it in project talk pages).

    • The approved project states that manual decks follow the same tiers, but there is a separate page for manual decks called Tyrant/RaidName/Player Decks/Manual. So, manual decks are not to be mixed with Auto (which also has it's own page).

Furthermore, the project standardized on no talk of any kind about a deck (manual or auto) on the article page, but on the talk page only.

The seven day proposal period for a global standard expired yesterday to make that last standard (about deck talk) now Wiki-wide.
